black tongue
so on friday i found myself at a “secret” yeah yeah yeah’s show at the angel orensanz building in the LES. it was a small crowd with some not-so-famous celebrities. they put on a great show, karen o. is amazing and adorable. i managed to end up front and center, but i didn’t have my usual/”good” camera with me…so instead i got some shots on my woefully under used pocket-sized point and shoot digital camera…all things considered, i think they turned out okay!

however… in much sadder news, this weekend a wonderful guy and amazingly talented musician, jerry fuchs, was killed in a horrifically tragic accident. he was my neighbor (his apartment is 20 feet around the corner) and a friend. i only knew him for 2 years, but people i care about a lot knew him for far longer and were much closer to him, although he genuinely treated everyone he knew like they were his best friend. that was just the kind of guy he was. he was loved by so many people and will missed so much. a great tribute to him was written here, and there are news links that detail the accident at the bottom of that page as well. godspeed, jerry.
i love the nightlife
i sure do enjoy making late-night blog posts, don’t i?
well. here are some shots from two extreeeemely different bars. 48lounge in manhattan and fort defiance in red hook, brooklyn. everything about them is totally opposite, but i absolutely LOVED the aesthetics of each one.
i’m looking forward to trying brunch at fort defiance this coming saturday, too!

sooooo…. i think i’m getting the itch to do some portraits. who wants their picture taken?
